Title: City of Bones
Author: Cassandra Clare
Release Date: April 2007
Series: The Mortal Instruments
Rating: ★★★★★
Pages: 485
Age Group: Young Adult
"When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
I heard soooooooo many people saying how amazing this book is and I had seen it on a lot of shelves so I couldn't help it I had to get them!!!!
I am so glad I did too because it was AMAZING!! I was hooked from Chapter 1, it was so different from anything I had ever read before, and yet somehow the same.
I don't know what makes this book and series seem so different than anything I've ever read before when I'm sure there are others that are kind of like it in some ways. Maybe it's the style of writing but I don't know. The only other book I was as amazed with as I was with this book is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. And unlike a lot of books nowadays (expect for a few) with every chapter and every page the book keeps getting better and better!!!!
Another thing I really liked was the romance between Clary and Jace. There was just enough of it so it would have some romance in it, but not enough that that's what the whole book would be about. It had action and adventure with just the right amount of romance and drama on the side lol :)
If you haven't already read this book I strongly suggest you go out and get it. I'm 99% sure you'll love it! =D

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . ."
